A Christmas Carol

Center Stage Theatre’s
A Christmas Carol

A Christmas CarolSince 2008, Center Stage Theatre’s A Christmas Carol has become Downtown Goldsboro tradition. CST continues to improve upon the annual production with the addition of gorgeously painted backdrops and improved special effects. In 2014, the play featured over 50 talented actors and actresses from Wayne, Lenior, and Johnston counties.

In A Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens invented the modern concept of “Christmas Spirit;” we know Ebenezer Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim, and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future not only as fictional characters, but as representations of the true meaning of Christmas. Join us as we experience Scrooge’s astonishing personal transformation from “Bah! Humbug!” to “Merry Christmas!”

In 2012, Center Stage Theatre started producing an original stage production of A Christmas Carol. Adapted for the stage by Nathan E. Bradshaw (a previous CST member), this new adaptation is extremely faithful to the original novella by Charlies Dickens and can be altered annually to fit each director’s vision.

In addition to our annual public performances during the month of December, we also offer morning performances of A Christmas Carol to public, private, and home school students at a low cost. A full companion study guide is also available for those who attend. If you have a group interested in attending as a field trip, click here to contact us. Be sure to request seats early, these performances fill up quick.
